Wednesday March 18, 2015 Isaiah 60:1

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isaiah 60:1
There are days when you just don't want to get out of bed and face the world. The sky is grey, the wind is blowing, and you can't imagine how anything good can come of that day. You want to stay under the covers and maybe read a book and sip tea, but heading out into the world seems impossible. Then you remember that you have the light of Christ within you and that it is the strength of Christ and not your own strength that allows you to face whatever it is that lies ahead.
Prayer for today:
Jesus Lord, thank you for giving us the example of what it means to face a difficult journey with grace and determination, trusting that God is watching over us each step of the way. When you faced your death, you didn't hide from where God was taking you, but you faced it with courage. Help us to know that you walk with us each day, and that we can lean on you for strength and hope.
Confession for today:
I confess that sometime I fail to trust you completely. I see the road ahead and I worry that it is too difficult, and I forget that you have always been faithful, providing me with all that I need for the task that you have called me to. Help me to recall the times that you have been faithful.  Help me to remember the abundant blessings you have poured out on me so that I will find strength in you once again.

The strength you talk about in the confession, Susan, is what healing is all about--identifying the area of concern, first, then allowing The Lord to shine his light upon it. Healing takes time and it only works if we let it happen. We must allow grace to permeate us, physically and spiritually.
